Excellent post. But let's not fool ourselves. Arteta will continue to double down on his main blind spot and will play 3-4 key players from the first squad. He simply never learns.
You had me right up until what you said about what you want for the Wigan game. You (nor me) are not Arteta or the squad. I think they will try to win every fixture and the lineup kind of proves that point. It was a disappointing draw and only time will tell if that was a good point gained or 2 bad points lost...Strap on-hope you have your tickets for the fun boat :-)
I agree that players who are in the squad should try to win every fixture.
What I am worried about is: stretching the focus of our key players across all competitions and approaching Wigan as “win at all costs”. I don’t think having Gabriel, Rice and Zubi in match day squad does any good for the Wolves fixture. My suggestion would be to set priorities so that the result doesn’t come as a cost of one on Wednesday.
Fair but we could also see today as a bit of a palette cleanser. Look at Ebs…maybe this helps the manager also to think about taking that pesky handbrake off.

He’s been improving in some areas, but playing a couple of favorites all the time is still his trait.
Some have fallen out of this principle like Odegaard, but Rice/Zubimendi/Norgaard is a clear issue
